USA PATRIOT Act

Anti-terrorism legislation enacted after September 11, 2001, requires all financial institutions, including Allsteel Credit Union, to put specific procedures in place to improve security. The USA PATRIOT Act requires us to:

  • Verify a person's identity when an account is opened;
  • Maintain records of information used to verify a person's identity;
  • Determine if the person opening an account appears on any government-provided lists of known terrorist suspects.

These measures are meant to protect you and your credit union.
